DPS Mohali once again proves its commitment to holistic education with the resounding success of its recent Skill Saturday event. On May 4,2024 students, teachers, and parents alike gathered for a No-Bag Day filled with enriching activities aimed at fostering physical well-being, intellectual growth, and the development of essential 21st-century skills as proposed by NEP 2020
The event kicked off with an invigorating Physical Training (PT) session, seamlessly integrated with skill-building drills. Participants not only experienced a robust warm-up but also engaged in collaborative exercises, setting the tone for the day’s endeavors.
One of the highlights was the “Cooking Without Fire” activity, where students showcased their culinary prowess and innovative spirit. This exercise not only underscored productivity but also demonstrated resourcefulness and efficiency in achieving culinary excellence without conventional cooking methods.
Another noteworthy segment was “Elections in the House,” providing students with a hands-on experience of the democratic process. Through this immersive exercise, children honed critical thinking, communication, and leadership skills, fostering a deeper understanding of governance and civic engagement.
“Craft A Mat” offered students a creative outlet to express themselves artistically. Through hands-on crafting, participants explored their creativity, solved design challenges, and celebrated their individuality, culminating in a tangible sense of accomplishment and empowerment.
Furthermore, life skills sessions focusing on “Humility” and “Media Literacy” equipped students with essential tools for personal growth and responsible digital citizenship. These sessions not only promoted effective communication and collaboration but also empowered individuals to navigate the digital landscape with discernment and resilience.
